Preparation of documents for a Russian passport application

5-year passport

The Russian passport is a legal document issued to citizens of the Russian Federation for the purposes of travelling abroad.

In order to renew your passport, the following documents are required:

Persons older than 18 years:
— valid original Russian foreign (international) passport
— or valid original Russian domestic (internal) passport
Persons under 18 years of age:
— original birth certificate with stamp certifying that the child has Russian citizenship or Russian citizenship sticker.

Otherwise, you need to attend the Consulate for the Russian citizenship check procedure.

1. Provide documents and information

We require the following documents:
Persons older than 18 years:
– a copy of your international Russian passport
– a copy of your internal (domestic) Russian passport including the “registration at the address” page
Child 14-18 years old:
– a copy of one parent’s international Russian passport
– a copy of one parent’s internal (domestic) Russian passport including the “registration at the address” page
– a copy of the child’s international Russian passport
– a copy of the child’s internal (domestic) Russian passport including the “registration at the address” page (if any)
– a copy of the birth certificate with stamp certifying that the child has Russian citizenship or Russian citizenship sticker
Child 0-14 years old:
– a copy of one parent’s international Russian passport
– a copy of one parent’s internal (domestic) Russian passport including the “registration at the address” page
– a copy of the child’s international Russian passport
– a copy of the birth certificate with stamp certifying that the child has Russian citizenship or Russian citizenship sticker

Depending on the circumstances, the consultant will ask you some questions regarding your application.

2. Payment

You can pay for Russian Service Centre services by credit/debit card, cash or cheque.

3. Application preparation

The consultant will prepare a passport application and send it for your review.
Please, check all details carefully.

4. Make an appointment for the Russian Consulate

You need to submit your passport application in person at the Russian Consulate in London.
You should make an appointment online in order to apply for a new passport.

5. Visit the Russian Consulate

You should prepare the following documents for your visit:
Persons older than 18 years:

  1. a passport application (printed on both sides of a sheet of paper)
  2. an original international Russian passport (will be returned to you)
  3. a copy of the information page of the international Russian passport
  4. an original internal (domestic) Russian passport (if any)
  5. a copy of the internal (domestic) Russian passport (if any)
  6. 4 passport-type mat photographs (3.5 x 4.5cm)
  7. £25 cash to pay consular fee.

Child 14-18 years old:

  1. a passport application (printed on both sides of a sheet of paper)
  2. an original parent’s international Russian passport (will be returned to you)
  3. a copy of the information page of the parent’s international Russian passport
  4. an original child’s international Russian passport (will be returned to you)
  5. a copy of the information page of the child’s international Russian passport
  6. an original child’s internal (domestic) Russian passport (if any)
  7. a copy of the child’s internal (domestic) Russian passport (if any)
  8. a birth certificate with stamp certifying that the child has Russian citizenship or Russian citizenship sticker
  9. a copy of the birth certificate
  10. 5 child’s passport-type mat photographs (3.5 x 4.5cm)
  11. £25 cash to pay consular fee.

Child 0-14 years old:

  2. an original parent’s international Russian passport (will be returned to you)
